How to Make the Most Out of Your Mexico trip

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

Ask locals about best places to eat

You should not miss Mexican regional cuisines, which are not just tacos or guacamole with chips, but are as diverse as those staples. When you visit Mexico, make sure to try the local cuisine in the region you are visiting.

Mexico has delicious street food as well! Traveling to Mexico with this tip is essential if you are staying at a resort that caters to your every need. You shouldn't miss enjoying some Mexican street food (called street food) like tacos and churros, as well as marquesitas (crispy crepes filled with fruit or chocolate). Enjoy some tasty treats on your trip to Mexico.

Do research on area before visiting, lots of hidden treasures

The country has some of the world's coolest destinations, but many travelers overlook them. Our favorite places in Mexico are Tulum and Cancun and Los Cabos - but the country has so much more to offer than beaches and all-inclusive resorts. Mexico is packed with hidden gems. It has ancient cities, untouched beaches, and wonderful foodie destinations. Before booking your next Mexico vacation, view our list of underrated destinations, and you'll feel like you're in the know.

Don't be afraid to explore off the beaten path

One of my biggest tips for traveling to Mexico is to pack light. Even if you are staying in an all-inclusive resort in Cancun or Cabo San Lucas, it may be very tempting to spend your entire vacation in the comfort zone, however, you shouldn't.

Cultural landmarks in Mexico are not to be missed!

In Mexico, there are a lot of historical sites, beautiful cities, and Mayan ruins where visitors can uncover the country's pre- and post-colonial history, meet locals, and sample regional dishes. Whether you want to visit a beach or just hang out at the beach, all of these places are worth a visit. Visit Mexico's Magic Towns, or Pueblos Magicos, as they each have extensive cultural significance and a rich cultural heritage. Visit these places to find fewer businesses catering only to tourists and more local flare, resulting in an incredibly educational experience.

Visit Izamal and Uayma near Valladolid in the Yucatán Peninsula if you plan on visiting the Yucatán Peninsula and wanting to see the region's culture. Nevertheless, there are many Pueblos Magicos to be found throughout Mexico.
