1) New York City, NY
New York has so much to offer no matter what your interests are. See the views of New York from the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, or One World Observatory. Starting at the northeastern edge of Central Park, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other beautiful museums. You can then walk northwest several blocks to the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of the City of New York, which is one of the best places to learn about New York's history.
Visit Chinatown for dim sum and Little Italy for cannoli. You can attend a jazz club in Harlem, see independent artist galleries scattered throughout Chelsea, and shop along Fifth Avenue.
2) Maui, Hawaii
Known as "The Valley Isle," Maui is the second largest Hawaiian island. World-famous beaches, Iao Valley, whale watching (during the winter months), farm-to-table cuisine, and the magnificent sunrise and sunset from Haleakala make this island a favorite. 3) Las Vegas, Nevada
Sin City is America's playground and one of the world's leading entertainment capitals... These are all excellent names for this Nevada hot spot. Imagine Vegas more as a theme park than a city - its possibilities are as big as it is overwhelming, and that's part of the appeal. Las Vegas is a city where inhibitions are not welcome: Every night, pleasure seekers throng to the brightly lit Strip like moths to a flame. Even if you aren't willing to re-enact "The Hangover," you should not leave Vegas without experiencing a bit of "Viva Las Vegas."
Today, Las Vegas is a great place to go on vacation regardless of what you're interested in. It's possible to enjoy an all-nighter at the blackjack table and TAO Nightclub, or opt for a more traditional high-roller getaway. A visit to a luxury spa, high-end boutique, or gourmet restaurant makes your stay all about luxury. A helicopter tour or bus tour from Las Vegas allows you to visit the Hoover Dam and hike in Red Rock Canyon. Those traveling with children would be enchanted by Cirque du Soleil performances, the Bellagio Fountain show, and the Neon Museum.
4) New Orleans, LA
A city is known for its unique architecture, Creole cuisine, and good-time vibes, New Orleans combines European and Southern influences. Across the city, jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, and Zydeco soar. Mardi Gras, a large festival incorporating Carnival elements like masks, music, and floats, is the main reason to visit for many visitors. Mardi Gras isn't the only event in New Orleans, though. The Bourbon Street clubs are packed until the wee hours of the morning, and there's a festival of some sort every weekend.
While New Orleans has suffered from environmental disasters in the past, including the BP oil spill, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Isaac, it continues to thrive today. There have been major efforts made in recent years toward restoring distinct districts of the city. Crescent City is looking almost as good as new these days. Get your bearings first by strolling through the French Quarter, where ghost lore and colonial heritage still exist. Then, you can stroll around and get a taste of the city's cultural landmarks, then enjoy an unforgettable night out and a hearty bowl of jambalaya.
5) Key West, Florida
Key West offers a relaxed yet unexpected seaside experience with its warm beaches and eccentric residents who live in the moment. Get in touch with your free spirit (maybe on a guided tour or a snorkeling trip) and follow the residents (known as Conchs). There's a good chance you'll end up at an old Ernest Hemingway home, a Mallory Square shop, or even a Duval Street bar.
Several times in the 1980s, Key West threatened to break away (in 1982, the “Conch Republic” fake secessionist movement attempted); therefore, it is the perfect place to do away with a fixed itinerary. Enjoy a margarita while taking a stroll, spotting six-toed cats, and setting your own pace. Despite the impact Hurricane Irma had on the Keys in late 2017, the island is once again thriving.
